Ghanaian artiste, DayOnTheTrack has offered a glimpse into his profound connection with music and the trajectory of his artistic journey with his latest release, “For Life.”
In a recent interview on Y 107.9 FM’s “Shouts On Y” with host Winston Micheals, DayOnTheTrack unveiled the driving force behind his creativity and the depth of his commitment to his craft.
Reflecting on the origins of his track “For Life,” DayOnTheTrack shared that the song had its initial inception around 2 to 3 years ago. Despite the passage of time, the artiste revealed that he revisited the composition and gave it a careful retouch to refine its essence.
During the process of writing and reworking the song, DayOnTheTrack recognized a unique sentiment that transcended the temporal, a sensation of being ahead of his era. He attributed this feeling to his extensive experience in mixing, recording, and other technical aspects of music production.
“At the time I was writing the song, I felt I was ahead of my time and basically I felt like I’ve been here for a long time because I used to mix and record and stuff like that. These skills have really helped me in my music journey because it makes the process faster. You know how you want to sound and the direction you want go,” he shared.
DayOnTheTrack also confessed that during the period when he was writing “For Life,” his focus was firmly fixed on the realm of music, recognizing it as his true calling and life’s purpose. The artiste expressed an ardent desire to establish a lasting legacy within the music industry, leaving an indelible footprint through his impactful contributions.
DayOnTheTrack’s “For Life” is one of four compilations on his debut project dubbed “Sounds and Waves,” with a fine blend of Pop, High-life and Afrobeats. This project is off to a flying start showing great signs of promise and already amassing almost a million streams on all platforms.
