Akwasi Aboagye, CEO of Bayport Savings and Loans, has shared his experience in working with Barclays Bank.
Talking about how his banking career took off, he shared it started back in 2007 when Barclays decided to expand.
Sharing his experience of working with them he stated, “Some of us young people got the opportunity to work with them. For me when I went into Barclays, I was in operations where my job was data capturing.”
He emphasized that he considered the job as an opportunity to build himself and understand what goes into banking and not just what he does.
In an interview with Rev. Erskine on Y107.9FM’s YLeaderboard Series, he said, “So each and every task that I was given, I approached it as not just doing it but also making sure I understood what goes into it. So for me, every day is a learning curve and even till this day, every single day is a learning curve for me.”
He mentioned that, he believes in not being afraid to fail because he has come to understand that in life, you need to go out and challenge yourself.
“If you don’t challenge yourself there’s no way you can grow. So from my first day at Barclays I was ready for whatever challenge that was to be thrown at me,” he expressed.
