Facebook Tests Text Effects For Posts

According to reports, Facebook is testing a new ‘text effects’ feature for News Feed posts that allows you to choose one of five set font styles.
Another day, another new feature test on Facebook. The ‘text effects’ feature, spotted by Digital Media Consultant and Co-founder of One Plymouth – Scott Grenney – and shared by Matt Navarra last week, allows users to add a range of different font styles to News Feed posts – Fancy, Simple, Clean, Headline, and Casual.
Do they remind you of anything? Yes, they are the same font style you can select in Facebook Stories as well.

New! Facebook is testing a ‘text effects’ feature for posts published via desktop (maybe mobile too).
You can select the following font styles (same as Facebook Stories font styles):
Fancy
Simple
Clean
Headline
Casual

With Facebook testing ways to integrate Stories further into News Feed – or more heavily emphasise Facebook Stories as a way to share on its platform – News Feed posts are getting more and more features that may eventually leave them looking just like Stories. I think it’s clear that Facebook will then keep the most popular of the two.
It seems that the new feature is being tested only on desktop – for the time being – but it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that we will see it on mobile soon as well. Whether and when this feature gets the green light to roll out globally, is only a matter of time to find out.
