Corporate Communications Manager for Vivo Energy Ghana, Shirley Tony Kum has highlighted the critical role family plays in the life of career men and women.
She described family as the key to stability and a balanced work and family life.
“Family is everything. They are enablers in achieving our goals,” she told Y107.9FM’s Rev Erskine on the Y Leaderboard Series edition of the ‘Myd Morning Radio Show’.
Although busy most of the time, Shirley makes it a point to spend quality time with her children. “I spend a lot of time doing much for my company, but I also spend time with my kids. There are times I travel and will still be helping them with homework over the phone.”
With her family being supportive of her career and personal life, Shirley sometimes has her sister helping her care for her children, picking them up from school sometimes.
Her understanding children are also well aware of her work and give her the cooperation she needs to function effectively and efficiently.
