The international window in September is the most annoying time of the football season. For weeks we begged for the Premier League and just as it’s picking up speed it gets curtailed. And speaking of picking up speed…seamless!
Summer might be a time of laughter and good weather, or at least it’s supposed to be, but it does very little for us in terms of getting our football fix. By the time the Premier League started we were all on the verge of going feral.
Fortunately that’s all over now and, once we’ve sat down to watch Grays Athletic vs Hertford Town tonight, we can look forward to the return of Premier League on Saturday with Manchester City vs Liverpool.
1. Kyle Walker (Man City) – 35.16 km per hour
2. Kiko Femenia (Watford) – 35.12 km per hour
3. Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal) – 35.11 km per hour
4. Sadio Mane (Liverpool) – 34.84 km per hour
5. Ryan Fraser (Bournemouth) – 34.79 km per hour
6. Joshua King (Bournemouth) – 34.70 km per hour
7. Paul Pogba (Man United) – 34.68 km per hour
8. Jamie Vardy (Leicester) – 34.65 km per hour
9. Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton) – 34.62 km per hour
=10. N’Golo Kante (Chelsea) – 34.56 km per hour
=10. Romelu Lukaku (Man United) – 34.56 km per hour
10. Salomon Rondon (West Brom) – 34.56 km per hour
The speeds are based on Opta’s stats of the top speed of each player in a game and Manchester City’s new acquisition Kyle Walker has hit the quickest of those speeds, which isn’t too much of a surprise.
Laurent Koscielny being there for Arsenal certainly is a surprise though!
Let’s hope everyone comes out of the blocks flying again when it all kicks back off at the weekend!
