Ghanaian musician/rapper, Medikal has debunked claims that the use of the private jet during the ‘Deeper Than Blood” US tour with African Dancehall King, Shatta Wale was an emulation of Davido’s schemes.
Earlier in March this year, both were seen on a private jet to the United States for their Deeper than Blood tour, performing in five different cities, around same time as Nigerian’s Davido dominated The 02 Arena.
However, many Ghanaians took to social media to suggest the two tried to follow in the steps of the Nigerian superstar.
In an exclusive interview with Rev. Erskine on Y107.9 FM’s ‘Myd Morning Radio Show’, the “Omo Ada” hitmaker disclosed that the private jet arrangement was included in their contractual agreements with the tour promoters.
He said, “It was part of the requirements. If you want us to do the tour in the States then we also needed a private jet to travel across the states. We didn’t want to wake up and have the stress of joining a queue to move around. Moreover, it’s America unlike Ghana where we could easily find our way through. We just wanted to prioritized our comfort.”
Medikal further indicated that such requirements didn’t come as a big deal to the promoters considering the huge brands they have built over the years.
“It wasn’t much of a big deal because its Medikal and Shatta Wale. Two top brands and if this is what we needed to make everything successful there shouldn’t be a problem. They made everything happen smoothly,” he added.
