The immediate past Managing Director of CAL Bank, Frank Adu Jnr has called for the abolishment of manifestos used by political parties during campaigns to convince voters to vote them into power.
According to him, the country can only develop if individual and partisan manifestoes are replaced with a non-partisan development plan.
He made this call in an interview on the Y leaderboard Series on the ‘Myd Morning’ show with Y107.9FM’s Rev Erskine. “We must abolish manifestoes of political parties and rather look at a development plan which is non-partisan to grow as a nation.”
He noted that if this is done, all political parties will be forced to follow the development plan when they come into power, “ensuring continuity and general development in the country.”
Frank Adu emphasized that it is impossible to even run a country within a limited period of four years to achieve progressive development. “We need to put in place a 50 year development plan if we want to grow as a nation and that will be the best way forward for us.”
A section of Ghanaians have demanded the adaptation and implementation of the abandoned seven-year development plan of Ghana’s former president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in order to achieve success in the economy and the nation as a whole.
