Ghanaian-born, UK-based afro-beats recording artiste Fuse ODG has applauded the growth and development of the music industry in Ghana.
The rapper and singer mentioned that much progress had been made in the past years and it had connected indigenous Africans and Africans living in the diaspora. He went on to state that music had interconnected Ghana with other countries known for particular genres of music.
“We have made a lot of progress, there’s more connection between Africans in Africa and Africans in the diaspora, the music has brought us a lot closer, whereas before it felt like Ghana and Jamaica is such a far place and the relationship between the two countries are so far wide apart, it’s not the same now, we have people like Pop Caan coming to Ghana because they feel Ghana is next door now and it wasn’t the same in the last 10 years”, He told Y 97.9 FM’s Macall Mensah during the Y Entertainment Podium show.
Fuse further disclosed that the son of legendary reggae musician Bob Marley, whom he had a song with and still working with had intentions of relocating and retiring his music career in Ghana.
“We have people like Darmian Marley that I am collaborating with and he has plans of coming to Ghana and has plans of retiring in Ghana”, he added.
Fuse ODG applauded musicians and entertainment industry players in Ghana for their tireless efforts towards the growth of the music industry. He also hinted at a feature with three-time Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), Songwriter of the year winner Kofi Kinaata, in the coming days.
