Ghanaian artiste, Black Sherif emerged as a blazing star after winning his first BET Award in the “Best International Flow” category at the illustrious 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards on a night of thrilling performances and tight competition.
The talented artiste, who had been nominated twice before, finally clinched the coveted award this year. Black Sherif was among the nominees in the “Best International Flow” category, and his victory marks a significant milestone in his career.
Facing stiff competition from nine other renowned rappers, Black Sherif managed to outshine them all. His competitors included Aka and K.O from South Africa, as well as Sampa The Great from Zimbabwe. Additionally, international nominees such as Gazo (France), Central Cee (UK), J Hus (UK), Major Rd (Brazil), Ninho (France), and Tasha & Tracie (Brazil) added a global flavour to the category.
Black Sherif’s journey to this achievement began last year when he received his first nomination in the same category. However, he narrowly missed out on the award, which was claimed by Benjamin Epps.
The 2022 edition of the BET Hip-Hop Awards had Black Sherif nominated alongside notable artists like Benjamin Epps (France), Central Cee (UK), Blxckie (South Africa), Haviah Mighty (Canada), Knucks (UK), Le Juiice (France), Nadia Nakai (Zimbabwe), and Tasha & Tracie (Brazil). This year, his determination and talent paid off as he secured the title.
