SES HD Plus GH Ltd, Ghana’s premium high-definition satellite broadcast service provider joined hands with Ghana’s foremost urban radio brand, YFM to light up the Takoradi Mall on Easter, with the #YClashOfTheDJs.
The partnership saw HD+ arrive in Takoradi with Akwasi Boadi (Akrobeto) to co-host the #YClashOfTheDJs with Nana Quasi-Wusu (PM), host of Y-Takoradi’s (Y97.9FM) Dryve of Your Lyfe show.
The DJing battle also saw Camidoh and Amerado hop of the HD+ Keteke train to deliver electrifying performances to fans and all present at the Takoradi Mall.

The Y Clash of the DJs was birthed as a result of the YFM’s quest to entertain its listeners during the heightened period of the Covid-19 pandemic. It is a battle between Ghana’s A-list DJs across the triangle, comprising of Y107.9FM in Accra, Y102.5FM in Kumasi and Y97.9FM in Takoradi on selection, transitions, mixes, rhythm and pulse.
This year’s edition being the third was dubbed, “One Sound, One Tribe,” the Y Clash of the DJs provided the platform to promote the uniqueness of our culture, our distinguished tourism, our high sense of fashion and everything that gives us our identity as Ghanaians through music.

The captivating battle, saw Y-Kumasi (102.5 FM) emerging with DJ Carcious, DJ Lexes, DJ Coleda and their hypeman, DJ Bongo grossing a total of 722 points from six rounds namely; ‘Made in Ghana’, Afrobeat, Throwback, Hip Hop, Reggae Dancehall, Freestyle sessions.
The winning team took home GH₵ 50,000 worth of prizes including items from HD+ and an all-expense paid trip to Dubai. HD+ also made sure the runner-ups also received consolation prizes.

These roadshows, dubbed: “HD Keteke”, features an HD branded truck led by the Akwasi Boadi (Akrobeto), and supported by popular musicians such as Mr Drew, Amerado Burner, Camidoh and others.
