Yfm presenter and Head of the Cultural Department at Alliance Française, Accra, Akosua Hanson, has shared some very convincing details about the ongoing 5-day Jazz festival which makes it an event not to miss.
Talking to Brown Berry on Ryse n Shyne on Y107.9FM, she noted that, the Accra Jazz festival is an annual event which is usually slated for the 30th of April to commemorate the international jazz day. She mentioned that due to Covid, the event was not very big last year, hence, it is coming back this year bigger and better.
“It’s a week-long festival. It started with the jazz and art exhibition which was opened on Monday and will be running through till Saturday, and we’re going to have our jazz workshops on Wednesday with Victor Dei Jnr who is a master of the game. We’ll also be having Nicholas Genest who will be having a horns masterclass. On Thursday through to Saturday, it’s a three-day concert”, she said.

Akosua noted that the Jazz Festival is mainly to commemorate International Jazz Day as well as intercultural dialogue, and have people talking about jazz music across cultures, Africa and beyond.
She promised that the event will be one not to miss because it has always been part of the lineup of activities at Alliance Française, and has been in planning since the beginning of the year.
