Heavyweight Ghanaian singer and songwriter, Emmanuel Ato Quamina Amonoo professionally known as Quamina MP has revealed that his late father had a hand in the planning of his very first concert, Bongofest.
The 29-year old rapper in an interview on Y107.9FM’s Myd Morning Radio Show with host, LJ disclosed that his desire to organize a concert has been burning for three years now and his motive was just to give back to society. “I have been trying to have my own concert since three years ago; I am so excited; In the beginning it just had to be about me as an artiste who wants to have my own concert” Quamina echoed.
“I used to plan it with my Dad because he knew a lot of people who were in charge of some things back where I come from; after I lost him I felt like since we planned something I believe it must be done no matter what.”
He disclosed the motive behind organizing the Bongofest concert. Quamina declared that he was having the concert to honour his late father’s name and also use it as an avenue to give back to society as a musician.
Quamina MP declared Bongofest as a free entry event which commences at 4:00 pm and is open to everyone to just walk in and have fun. “I want to give it to the people, I want the people to know that this is us, this is Quamina MP.” He stated.
The maiden edition of Bongofest is set to take place today, December 22, 2022 at the Christmas Village, Tetteh Quashie with a long list of big artistes making an impact in the music industry globally.
