Ghanaian artiste Ama Serwah Genfi globally known as Amaarae has indicated that she spends more time in Ghana than abroad.
Most Ghanaians have for long perceived the singer affiliates more with people abroad especially in the UK than she does with Ghanaians.
However, Amaarae in a recent interview on Y 107.9 FM’s “Dryve of Your Lyfe” with host Kojo Manuel explained that she lives in Ghana with her family and has her entire life built here.
“I was living here for all the years I was doing music probably up until like recently,” she said.
Despite being based in Ghana, Amaarae admitted that she isn’t much of a party person and doesn’t go out much. “You only see me on the scene unless I have a performance or interview sort of,” she added.
Amaarae also revealed that she started spending more time abroad in the past two years, particularly in London and LA. She stated that it is much easier to travel and work from there.
“I really started living outside, going more to London and maybe LA maybe two years and now I live like 6 or 8 months ahead of the year in London and come to Ghana when I’m free and chilling and that’s cause it’s easy to get to everywhere from London for work. It’s easier to work in the UK and do everything from there. But I live in Ghana all the time,” she said.
Nevertheless, Amaarae emphasized that she still considers Ghana her home and spends the majority of her time here.
The multi-talented singer recently released her first single this year, “Reckless and Sweet” ahead of her second album launch, “Fountain Baby”.
