Renowned media personality Erskine Amo Whyte, popularly known as Rev Erskine, says his success in Ghana’s media landscape is the result of a long-held passion and a clear vision nurtured since childhood.

Speaking on Happy 98.9FM’s Happy Evening Drive with Akua Sika, the YFM Programmes Manager shared that his pursuit of a career in media was not accidental but intentional.

“I had planned for this. I wouldn’t say it just happened ‘along the line.’ No, it was something I dreamt of, I planned it, I wanted it. Where you see me now is exactly where I envisioned myself,” he revealed.

Rev Erskine explained that his interest in radio was shaped by his upbringing in a family deeply involved in media. He credited his grandmother, Ohemaa Maubyn, and his uncle, Dr. Who, for inspiring his early love for the industry.

“Since I was 11 years old, I’ve been listening to radio. I enjoyed the craft and had favorite media personalities. I believe that’s where my passion began,” he added.

Now at the helm of Ghana’s leading urban radio station, Erskine emphasized that achieving his dreams was not just about passion but also about discipline and determination.

“It wasn’t just a dream I had while sleeping. I could picture it, I worked toward it, and I committed to it.” he said.
