Accomplished Ghanaian women in the creative and entertainment industry were the focus of YFM’s initiative to mark the 2023 International Women’s Day. The radio station, known for its commitment to gender inclusion, presented an all-ladies affair that saw the airwaves taken over by some of the country’s most talented female personalities.
The day was a celebration of women excellence in the creative space, with a lineup that included in-house female presenters and DJs such as Princess AJ, Naa Dzama, Raven Kuewor, Mz Orstin, Akosua Hanson and LJ. The guest hosts for the day included renowned media personality Amanda Jissih, The DJ Mish, DJ Baaba, Anna Leone and Vanessa Gyan.
According to Osei Kuffour, Head of Y Triangle, the event was aimed at recognizing and celebrating the achievements of women in Ghana’s creative and entertainment industry. He noted that women have made significant contributions to the growth and development of the industry and it was important to acknowledge their efforts.
“We recognize the pivotal role women play in Ghana’s creative space and we want to celebrate and acknowledge their efforts. Our goal with this event is to inspire and motivate more women to pursue their dreams in this industry.”
