A 25 year old graduate of the University of Ghana, Jason Akoto Asare has won the 2017 edition of the Mr. Model Africa competition held over the weekend in Accra. Jason beat stiff competition from Kwaku Sakyi, a graduate of Central University College who came second and Yoni Ahafia, a graduate of Accra Technical University, the third place winner.
The twelve (12) finalists for the show went through a swim wear , Avant garde and dinner wear segments as well as walked in creations by designers Quophi Akotua Ghana and Stick and stitches by Esinam after which the number was pruned to the top seven (7) .
They were each asked to sell a product in a TV advert format within sixty (60) seconds and convince the judges why they should be made winner of the fourth season of the only male modeling competition in Ghana.
Jason, Kwaku and Yoni holds degrees in Bsc Banking and Finance, Business Administration (Accounting) and HND (purchasing and Supply) respectively and will work as ambassadors for Autism awareness as well as promote their individual portfolios and brands under the management of Fame Model Management, organizers of the Mr. Model Africa competition during their one year reign.
There were performances from the 2016 first runner up on the competition, Michael Apenkwah and sensational singer, Chrissy O.
