Fresh off being announced as one of the ambassadors for World Child Cancer, YFM Ghana’s radio jock/rapper, Joel Orleans over the weekend, October 21 attended the annual Kente Fundraising Gala held at Venue 360, 20 Gypsy Lane, LU1 3JH.
Organized by the Ghana Society UK, this years grand edition climaxed of their annual programs with a cultural exhibition themed ”Out of Africa” to promote the rich African cultural heritage and businesses at the UK Centre for Carnival Arts and culminating in the Kente Fundraising Gala.
The event was attended by His Excellency Ghana’s High Commissioner to UK & Ireland and First Lady, Hon. Minister of Tourism Culture & Creative Arts Ghana, The Lord-Lieutenant of Bedfordshire, The High Sheriff of Bedfordshire, Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Luton, Lord and Lady McKenzie, Kelvin Hopkins and Gavin Shuker MP.
As part of Ghana Society UK’s health initiatives, they partner with World Child Cancer to raise awareness and fundraise to support children with cancer in Korle Bu and Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospitals to enable the creation of a center of excellence and improve the awareness of childhood cancers in Ghana to encourage earlier diagnosis.
Joel is the host of ”Dryve of Your Lyfe” show on Accra based radio station- Y107.9FM, from Monday to Thursday 3PM to 7PM and Friday at 3PM to 6PM.
