Gerard Pique has revealed Jordi Alba still gets his dad to give him a lift to training at the age of 30.
The Barcelona centre-back was talking about teenager Ansu Fati getting a lift to training on Spanish TV.
Pique said on La Resistencia: ‘His [Fati’s] Dad brings him,’ he said. ‘Just like Jordi Alba.’
Alba does not have a driving licence so relies on his father to get him to work.
On the pitch, the Catalan giants are set to be without the defender for a number of weeks after he suffered a fresh thigh injury in last week’s goalless draw with Slavia Prague.
The Spanish left back had to be replaced by Sergi Roberto at the Nou Camp and the severity of the problem has been confirmed.
‘Jordi Alba has had a relapse of the left biceps femoris muscle injury. He is injured and his evolution will define his availability,’ read a club statement.
It is believed to be a similar injury to the one he sustained in the Champions League stalemate with Borussia Dortmund in September.
That kept him out of action for three weeks in what has proved to be a stop-start season for the 30-year-old.
Junior Firpo is expected to deputise over the coming weeks.
