Jose Mourinho's 11 worst signings

With Manchester United’s summer signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan falling flat, Goal takes a look at Jose Mourinho’s worst signings…
Henrikh Mkhitaryan | Despite fighting for his signature in the summer and reportedly spending upwards of £30 million to secure the deal, the Armenian has cut a lonely figure at Old Trafford lately having fallen out of favour with the Red Devils manager.
Emmanuel Adebayor | The signing of Adebayor at Real Madrid was always going to be a short-term solution for Mourinho’s side, but even by the Togo striker’s erratic standards the move threw up mixed success.
Khalid Boulahrouz | The Special One signed the Netherlands international for a hefty fee in 2006, but he went on to play just 13 games in two seasons.
Nuri Sahin | Mourinho picked Sahin up following his success at Borussia Dortmund but the Turkey international never lived up to the billing. He was quickly loaned out to Liverpool and then back to BVB before leaving the club permanently.
Asier Del Horno | The full-back lasted just one season at Stamford Bridge before being shipped back to Spain, joining Valencia.
Jiri Jarosik | Signed from CSKA Moscow in 2003, Jarosik left the London club with a Premier League winner’s medal and a League Cup. His individual impact at the club, though, was somewhat forgettable.
Mateja Kezman | After scoring 105 goals in 122 games for PSV, Kezman’s arrival at Chelsea was met with high expectations. The Dutchman scored just seven goals in 41 appearances, though, and was shown the door after a sole season.
Shaun Wright-Phillips | Though Shaun Wright-Phillips found relative success in the Premier League with Manchester City, his days at Chelsea were less impressive. The former England international played 82 games in three years at the club.
Juan Cuadrado | The Colombian attacker joined for around £23 million in 2005 but has since made just 13 Premier League appearances. Currently on a long-term loan at Juventus.
Andriy Shevchenko | Very much a Roman Abramovich signing, Mourinho was less of a fan of the Ukraine legend. Four goals in 30 appearances were followed by five in 17 before he was shipped out of the club.
Hamit Altıntop | Having proved himself at Schalke and Bayern Munich, the Turkish midfielder played just 5 La Liga games for Mourinho before leaving for Galatasaray.
