Leading real estate company in Ghana, Lakeside Estates, has cut the ribbon for their newest baby, the Lakeside Estate “City Market.”
The City Market is a project which creates a formalized commercial hub within the Lakeside Community, bridging the gap between traders and customers.
With the City Market, residents of the Lakeside Community do not have to move out to shop, but now have all they need at their doorsteps.
Speaking at the ribbon cutting ceremony, Director of Lakeside Estate, Salah Kalmoni said, “With the Lakeside Estate having developed over the years, the brand thought it wise to undertake this project to not only improve its commercial value, but to also create convenience for homeowners. The land upon which the City Market is sited today was earmarked for housing projects but we chose to repurpose it for this. With this being our brain child, we saw the need for Community 8 to have the first City Market.”
Marketing Manager for Lakeside Estates, Isaac Ntiamoah, added that the City Market, unlike the many others has sanitation as its utmost concern. With that in mind, adequate measures have been put in place to ensure sanitation at the market. “We have a place of convenience at the market which will improve sanitation. The master plan of the City Market also has a lorry station. This will make it easier for both traders and customers to commute to and fro.”
A representative from the office of the Adentan District Chief Executive, Felix Ameyaw, praised Lakeside Estates for this great initiative.
“Development is not the sole role of government and Lakeside Estates has proved this. The estate developer could’ve built on the land and made profit. But deciding to use the land for this is an important achievement we need to acknowledge. For thinking about the people of the municipality we say thank you.”
