In one of the most bizarre moments in Champions League final history, Karius gifted Karim Benzema with an easy tap in after throwing it directly at his body.
It just wasn’t the goalkeeper’s night and after the final whistle, he sobbed to the travelling support and asked for forgiveness.
With tears in his eyes, Karius raised his hand and apologised for his errors.
He may have made vital mistakes but some Liverpool fans applauded their goalkeeper – a warming gesture in an otherwise devastating night.
