Louie Rankin has died after being involved in a horrific car crash.
The Grammy-award winning reggae artist, who was well known for portraying Teddy Bruckshot in Jamaican movie Shottas, was involved in the fatal car accident in Ontario, Canada on Monday.
According to American website TMZ, the crash reportedly involved a transport truck and another vehicle.
Details are still limited at this time.
A tweet from the star’s official Twitter account confirmed the news.
It read: “It saddens us to have to announce that The “[ORIGINAL] DON DADA” “Trail Blazer” the legend – Louie Ox Rankin passed away this morning! May God keep his soul with his father, sister and [niece] in #heaven #amen #sipox.”
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, the musician and actor, who was fondly known as ‘Don DaDa’, starred along Nas and DMX in the 1998 crime drama Belly as a Jamaican kingpin, Ox. Prior to his foray into acting, he released a huge single Typewriter in 1992, which won a Grammy.
