The 14-song tracklist for M.anifest’s new album ‘Nowhere Cool’ has been released. The album features Nigerian Brymo on two tracks, ‘Sugar’ and ‘Goodbye’.
The rough and sexy track, ‘Sugar’, was the first single off the album and saw Brymo with his first feature in three years. ‘Goodbye’, the second collaboration is a lament on a love gone and is a deeply touching outro.
Cupid’s Crooked Bow is the second single off the album and features South African artist Nomisupasta.
“The song was inspired by having been loved by a woman or two who always knew the difficulties of dating an artist, never wanted to make that choice, yet we found ourselves in a spin of intoxicating love that always threatened to end,” M.anifest said.
The rap heads among his fans will not be disappointed however with ‘B.E.A.R’ and ‘Rich People’s Problems’ featuring Tumi Molekane being standout tracks.
His work with young Ghanaian talent fills out the track listing. Worlasi, Cina, Dex Kwasi, Paapa and Dark Suburb all make contributions that stitch together this album of many sounds and fuse them into a coherent piece.
But perhaps the greatest surprise of all is an Ama Ata Aidoo feature. Aidoo’s short story, ‘Nowhere Cool’ inspired this album title.
‘Nowhere Cool’ is out on iTunes.
