Founder of Konvict Music and R&B singer Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam globally known as Akon has apprised prime record labels to sign Ghana’s teen music prodigy Black Sherrif on account of his hanker to sign the “Kwaku the Traveler” hitmaker.

The Senegalese-American entrepreneur expressed his love for Blacko and his music which seemed to have a strong connection in an interview on an BBC’s Radio’s 1xtra, a digital radio station owned by BBC to host hip hop, grime and R&B professionals.

Akon revealed that listening to Black Sherrif’s music reminds him of his days as a young ambitious musician also looking for his big break. “I’m a huge fan of Black Sherrif right now; maybe because he just reminded me of the energy of myself when I came out.”

He disclosed that his first encounter with Black Sherrif’s song was made possible by one Mako, a Malian friend in New York City which marked the very day he was made a fan of the young artiste.

The record producer found no words to describe what it felt like to listen to Black Sherrif’s song as he reminisced “You can hear in his voice; you can feel the pain, you feel the struggle, you hear the challenges; you can just hear a ghetto kid wanting to get out”

“Major record labels need to get to him before I do” Akon forewarned record labels who have eyes on Black Sherrif to be quick about it as he plainly revealed his plans for Black Sherrif.

Black Sherrif motivates young talented Ghanaians to stop at nothing when it comes to their passion in most of his songs which has been affirmed as a fact by Akon who tagged Blacko as “The Voice of The Youth in Africa”

His taste for good music has gotten globally known artistes to get signed to Konvict Music. The likes of T-Pain, Jason Derulo and Lady Gaga all represent the record label as great names in the music industry whom were discovered and have been given the platform to make a mark in the industry.
