French international and Manchester United forward Anthony Martial faces a massive £180,000 fine for going missing during their pre-season tour of the USA.
The United star was given permission by manager José Mourinho to leave the US for Paris to join his partner Mélanie da Cruz for the birth of their son.
However, Martial was expected to return to their LA training base for the remainder of the tour, which culminated with a 2-1 victory over European champions Real Madrid.
United flew home from Miami in the early hours of this morning, but it is not known if Martial will re-join with the team at Carrington.
Martial is reported to be in breach of his contract after missing a total of eight days of pre-season. He currently earns £90,000-per-week and is expected to be fined two weeks wages for the unapproved absence.
This latest incident for Mourinho comes at the end of a disastrous pre-season tour, where he has seemingly separated himself from the team and stretched relations, becoming the bookies favourite to be the first Premier League manager to go.
