Mauricio Pochettino Tipped To Take Unai Emery's Job At Arsenal

Arsenal should get rid of Unai Emery as manager and sign Mauricio Pochettino, that’s the view of men from opposing sides of north London Martin Keown and Harry Redknapp.
Pochettino’s five and a half year spell as Spurs manager came to an end on Tuesday night after a poor six months following the sides Champions League final last season.
Despite his lack of trophies, and the spell that ended his time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Argentine’s time at Spurs is considered a big success and that’s why it’s been suggested Arsenal try to lure him across north London.
Talking on talkSPORT Redknapp, a former Spurs boss, said, “With Pochettino going from Tottenham, there will be one or two Premier League managers waking up this morning thinking, ‘oh my god, this ain’t too clever’.
“And there will be one or two chairmen very excited this morning thinking if there’s any way they could get him in. What a signing he’d be.
“There are clubs in London who are having a terrible time. Why shouldn’t he go to Arsenal if he wants to? You think the Arsenal fans wouldn’t love him there?
“…It can happen, as long as you can do the job. I would have thought Arsenal will be looking at Pochettino now thinking, ‘could we? Can we?'”

Speaking to the Daily Mail, former Arsenal defender Keown agreed that the Gunners should take a look at the former Espanyol boss.
He called for no panic on Unai Emery’s role but still suggested Poch could take over, “There’s no need to panic at Arsenal, we are getting close to panic by the way, because we’re not having the best of seasons,” Keown said, “But the powers that be at the top of the club should be seriously considering Pochettino.
“I have a lot of admiration for what he did at Tottenham, the way he nurtured those young players and he didn’t spend a great deal of money.
“I don’t think Tottenham spent enough.”

Emery has been under pressure this season thanks to Arsenal’s form and the team have failed to win any of their last five games in any competition.
Despite the problems the former Sevilla boss has guided his side to sixth in the league, eight places and three points above their local rivals.
The two sides played out a 2-2 draw earlier this season and won’t meet again until the end of April. Could Pochettino be in the opposition dug out when Spurs play hosts?
