Meet Background Music Group's DJ Kess, Vision DJ and M3dal

DJ Kess discovered her talent in Senior High School (Archbishop Porter Girls, Takoradi) when she was made the school’s official DJ. Her passion to become a DJ grew bigger when she realized that she could learn and become a good DJ now that she has access to all the sound equipments the school had. What looked like a one-time wonder now became Kess’s profession after immense training. She has been DJ’ing professionally for the past 7 years.
Disc Jockeying is a male dominated industry with almost every famous DJ being a man from the likes of DJ Clue, DJ Khaled and David Guetta. But gradually, female Djs aremaking head ways all over the world! and undoubtedly, DjKess is one of such in Africa! She took female doing in Ghana to a different level, djing on radio, clubs and big events.

M3DAL: Joseph Kweku Amamoo,popularly known as “M3DAL” was born on 9th October 1990 to parents Joseph E. Amamoo and Dorcas Amamoo. He was born and raised in Dansoman, in the Greater Accra Region – Ghana . He attended St. Bernadette School up until 2009.

M3DAL exposed his interest and affection for music at an early age. He teamed up with a group named boothcamp back in his shs level of schooling. “Revolva” was his start up name after which he switched to “Hotjam” and dropped singles with acts such as Edem,EL,Gemini,Creal, Jtown and more.
M3DAL which means “Making Every Decision A Legacy” was the named He finally picked to move with. The power and the drive the name gives him made him know it was the perfect one.

 
DJ Vision: The award-winning radio, club and event disc jockey, Vision DJ.  Serene in nature, Vision DJ does his talking through his music, showcasing his talent and passion for music on the ones and twos.
Vision, also known as Francis Essah Aboagye, started his deejay days during his secondary school years at Koforidua Sec-Tech.  Following completion, he attended Central University College in Tema, where he is a banking and finance graduate.  He continued pursing his career in the music industry throughout college, and played on Vibe FM from 2007-2009, before joining YFM.

Since 2009, Vision DJ has rocked the weekly morning drive with the boisterous Ms Naa on Y107.9FM’s Ryse ‘n Shyne.  His famous ‘Loud ‘n Lyve’ mixes keep his listeners locked in every weekday morning.
Vision DJ was awarded ‘Discovery DJ of the Year’ in 2013.  Since then, Vision DJ has quickly become a common name in the Ghanaian music scene, playing an eclectic range of music, including R&B, hip-hop, afro pop, hip life, edm, dancehall, socca and house music.
In August 2013, Vision DJ played at Big Brother Africa’s Saturday Night Party in South Africa.  He was quickly a favorite on social media.

Vision DJ has shared platforms with the big boys, playing at 020live and in the VIP ‘Red Room’ at the VGMA’s. Vision DJ has performed as DJ alongside Trey Songz, Ludacris, Fabolous, Red Cafe, D’banj, Neato C, Ice Prince and WizKid. He’s also DJ’d for artists like 4X4, Asem, & dancehall diva Kaakie.  He recently DJ’d the ‘Wave Club Tour’ with Joey B and Pappy Kojo.
Currently, Vision is the resident DJ at Champs Sports Bar inside Paloma Hotel. He also plays frequently at the newest, hottest lounge in Accra, Coco Lounge and plot7 night club.Additionally Vision DJ also known for the initial success big night clubs such at Shakazulu night club,Excel night club and Movenpick bar.
