The Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery, has announced Monday, June 26, 2017, a statutory public holiday.
A statement signed by the Interior Minister stated that the public holiday which is Eid Ul-Fitr, must be observed throughout the country.
The Eid-Ul-Fitr is an important religious day celebrated by Muslims worldwide to mark the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
This year, the Islamic holy month of fasting began on Friday, May 26 and may end on Saturday, June 24.
