The suspended Black Stars midfielder was accused of mishandling a referee during a fan game in Ghana but he has denied the claims
Sulley Ali Muntari has refuted reports that he was involved in a brawl with a referee named Kofi ‘John’ Terry during a football game with friends in Accra on Monday.
The former Inter and AC Milan midfielder, who currently plies his trade with relegated Serie A side Pescara, was playing seven a side match with teammates including former Ghana midfielders Laryea Kingston and Armah Senegal, as well as 2008 Ghana Premier League goal king Eric Bekoe in a ‘Monday Stars’ at the Kotobabi Wembley Park but got angry at a point, accusing the referee of bad officiating, according to reports.

What slap? STOP dragging my name through the mud! Nice try but just so you know, you can never beat a person who never gives up.

— Sulley Muntari (@MuntariOfficial) August 8, 2017

He was later booked for a rough challenge, which degenerated into exchange of words with the official, leading almost to a physical fight.
Muntari boasts of 84 appearances and 20 goals for Ghana and was part of the Black Stars squad that qualified the country to its first Fifa World Cup in 2006
