One of South Africa’s enterprising acts, Nkululeko Nciza known in showbiz as Ciza has attributed his love for music to his mother.
Ciza who has been an entertainer from a very young age was only having fun dancing and participating in school competitions until he saw his mother rock an audience one day.
His mother being Nhlanhla of Mafikizolo fame and father TK Nciza, a music business mogul, Ciza had experienced the power of music but needed that defining moment to usher him into the music scene himself.
Speaking to Kojo Manuel on Y107.9FM’s Dryve of Your Lyfe show, he shared, “I was popular in school because of my musical performances and was always a vibe until I was like 16 years and saw the impact my mum’s performance had on those present.”
Ciza who was born into entertainment and had music come naturally to him added, “She was performing and I was backstage watching the crowd and the feeling and energy I saw that moment got to me. That was when I decided to be a musician because I saw the reaction of the audience and it was uplifting. It was a different of feeling.”
With a peaked interest in pursuing a music career, Ciza started recording music on the blindside of his parents only to surprise them with the news a few months later. “I told them I want to do music and they were like we will see. Two years down the lane in my last year of High School I played them my first track and they were blown away.”
Ciza whose life changed after dropping his first single titled “Come Alive” has been making waves since and does not plan on stopping anytime soon.
