Ghanaian Afrobeats star, Gregory Bortey Promise Newman, professionally identified as King Promise has reacted to his nomination as Artiste of the Year for this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
King Promise has made back to back global hits, with his tunes on popular requests for many events and shows all over the world.
In a viral video on social media the singer affirmed that he along with his team have birthed many great records not only in the past year but for a rather long period of time . This he implied provides TGMA’s board with a track record of strides he has made in the music industry. “I believe we’ve done a lot of work over the years; not only last year but when they are putting things together they do it based on the year in review.” He explained.
The ‘Terminator’ hitmaker indicated that he leaves his works to do the talking when it comes to how successful he is as a musician. Acknowledging fellow artiste in the Artiste of The Year category, he said, “Everybody who is in there is worthy competitor who put in a lot of work so respect for everybody. But I feel like my work speaks for itself because we’ve really put in a lot of work.”
King Promise says he is ready to gladly accept the Telecel Ghana Music Awards – Artiste of The Year. Aside securing an Artiste of the Year nomination, Paris’ songwriter, has also been nominated for International Collaboration of the Year, and Most Popular Song of the Year.
The 25 edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards is slated for Saturday , June 1 2024, at the Grand Arena of The Accra International Conference Center.
