Benin’s Angelique Kidjo stands in a league of her own, having won 140 awards throughout her career, making her Africa’s most awarded female musician.
Wizkid holds the record for the most awards won on both local and international platforms. With a career spanning over a decade and a half, he has become a global icon in the music industry.
As of February 2025, Wizkid’s latest award is the Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (Contemporary) at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards for his song “Piece of My Heart” featuring Brent Faiyaz. This track is part of his latest album, “Morayo,” released in late 2024.
Additionally, in early February 2025, Wizkid, alongside Bloody Civilian and Seni Saraki, won a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album for their contributions to “One Love, Music Inspired by The Film.”
His continued success together with the music giants highlights Africa’s growing influence in the global music scene.
