Ghanaian legendary reggae artiste, Emmanuel Andrews Sammini popularly known as Samini has said that not many songs released during his hiatus can be compared to his banger ‘My Own’.
During an interview on an Accra-based TV station the award-winning reggae singer, noted that he was aware of the many controversies that have generated from his long break from the music industry. However, he clarified that his venture into other enterprises as the reason behind is long break.
“When people say I am losing relevance in the industry they should go and get a degree and know what it entails.” he revealed, expressing the attention and focus schooling demands if one wants to excel. The songwriter bagged a degree in Project Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration earlier this year and joined the list of Ghanaian musicians who attained tertiary education.
Samini indicated that notwithstanding the long break, his hit song ‘My Own’ released in 2018 still packs a punch and is a major contender for presently many Ghanaian made bangers. “Give me any example of songs that can be compared to My Own; not so many. They cannot be compared to My Own.”
The song is appreciated by individuals from all over the world and is touted as a song that expounds one’s feeling of love and mutuality.
