No one has been able to beat Aaron Wan-Bissaka in training since he arrived at Manchester United, according to the United players.
It showed again in the 179th Manchester Derby when he won Man of the Match award.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has continuously been one of the bright spots for Manchester United this season. The right-back has struggled offensively, but his defensive prowess puts him in the argument for the best defender in Europe.
With 62 tackles this season, Wan-Bissaka has followed up his amazing season at Crystal Palace with the same attitude at United.
And according to Manchester United legend, Darren Fletcher, that even though Wan-Bissaka has to improve going forward, he’s already one of the best defensively.
“He loves to defend himself. It’s refreshing to see, but he has to get better with the ball. Hopefully he is working on receiving and passing in training. I don’t see for myself that he’s going to be an attacking fullback who storms ahead.”
Fletcher went on to say that United players had told him that no one can get past him with Wan-Bissaka, nicknamed ‘Spider’, can’t be beat.
“I was talking to some Manchester United players, and they were saying that no player has managed to pass Wan-Bissaka in training this season.”
“It’s as if he refuses to let them pass. He has to get better technically, but he is a fantastic fullback. When he gets better technically, he’s going to take his game to a new level. He is a fantastic defensive player and contributor for Manchester United.”
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is third in the Premier League in tackles with 62 and also has the highest tackle success rate in the League.
