Paris Saint-Germain may be in the market for a new striker.
That’s because one member of their terrifying attacking-trident has thrown his future into doubt, and it’s not Neymar.
It appears Edinson Cavani is considering his options ahead of the expiration of his PSG contract according to RMC.
Edinson Cavani, 31, still has one-and-a-half-years to run on his current deal but admits he may be tempted to return back home to Uruguay.
“We have not discussed my contract. I am very happy in Paris. I feel happy, with my family,” he said.
However, if PSG table him a new contract he will stay.
“If I am given the possibility to stay in Paris, I will stay.
“The club has shown a lot of faith in me. I do not know if I will finish my contract and go back to my country (Uruguay).
“The truth is that this is also something that I think about. I am nearly 32. To go back to my country, be with my family, my loved ones, I think about it. For 13 years now I have been far away, in Europe.”
Cavani began his professional career in Uruguay at Danubio before venturing to Italy, where he eventually wound up at Napoli.
He’s been plying his trade in Paris since 2013. Is his time in Europe coming to an end? Watch this space.
