PHOTO: Ghana Black Stars Player Involved in A Serious Car Crash on Boxing Day

Ghana and Orlando Pirates player Edwin Gyimah was involved in a near-fatal accident in Obuasi in the wee hours of boxing day 2016.
The versatile midfielder, who is in Ghana for the Christmas holidays, sustained cuts to his forehead and other places when his white Hyundai Sonata was involved in a head on collision with another commercial car.
Gyimah who was seen bleeding profusely after the accident, opted not to be taken to the hospital but sneaked from the scene in a taxi cab while another female, identified as Linda Owusu, who was also in Gyimah’s car, received stitches for a cut around her head at the AGA Health Foundation Hospital in the Obuasi township.
According to a Footy-Ghana report, Gyimah, 25, was behind the driver’s seat when the car collided with an oncoming taxi cab on the stretch between the AGA school and waterworks (not far from Sam Jonah school) in Obuasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
An eye witness told Footy-Ghana that the former Supersport United player was attempting to overtake another car and got involved in the collision.
Gyimah is highly expected to make coach Avram Grant’s squad for the African cup of Nations in Gabon but it is unknown the extent of his injury, which eye witnesses say could likely put him out of the tournament which kicks off in less than twenty days.
