An official confirmed that Nigerian rapper Panshak Zamani, also known as Ice Prince Zamani, has been remanded in Ikoyi prison.

The artist was arraigned on Friday before a Magistrate court in Ajah, according to PREMIUM TIMES’s interview with Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesman for the Lagos Police Command.

Three counts of allegations involving assault, obstruction, and kidnapping are brought against him.

The singer’s arrest was first reported by Mr. Hundeyin in a tweet.

He claimed that Ice Prince was detained for allegedly assaulting a police officer who had pulled him over for operating a vehicle without licence plates.

Mr. Hudenyin said in a tweet that the rapper threatened to fling the arresting officer into a river.

The policeman warned that the rapper will face legal action after posting a picture of him in handcuffs.

According to Mr. Hundeyin, the accused’s bail conditions call for a payment of “N500,000 with two responsible sureties.”
The musician would be released after fulfilling his bond requirements, he added. The case has been adjourned to 7 September.

After releasing “Oleku,” one of Nigeria’s most-remixed songs, Ice Prince became well-known. He won the 2009 Hennessy Artistry Club Tour.

In 2011, he issued his first studio album, “Everybody Loves Ice Prince.” The album’s three biggest hits were “Oleku,” “Superstar,” and “Juju.”

Ice Prince’s second studio album, Fire of Zamani, was released in 2013. The hits “Aboki,” “More,” “Gimme Dat,” and “I Swear” were included on the album.

Ice Prince was introduced as Chocolate City’s vice president on July 1, 2015. He worked there until 2016, when he left the record company.
