Ghanaian-Dutch sensational artiste, Nyarko has revealed that her passion for music was reignited after she started rapping on Instagram.
In an interview on Y 107.9 FM’s Y Lounge, Nyarko explained that she started rapping at a young age but never took it seriously until about three years ago when she started music professionally.
“I started doing music 2-3 years ago like for serious but I’ve always loved it growing up. Years back I started music with rapping and then I stopped for like 10 years straight. But I’ve always kept on writing but never really recorded anything like that,” she said.
According to Nyarko, her break from music lasted for a decade until she started posting one-minute rap videos on Instagram. These videos received good responses from her followers, who always wanted to hear more.
“So like 2-3 years ago I started making one minute video of raps on Instagram and that was where I got good responses and started making songs. Because it was short and just for a minute people on my feed were always like they wanted to hear more and that was really what pushed me to do music because one minute video is different from making songs,” she explained.
For her, it was the feedback from her followers that encouraged her to start recording full songs and she hasn’t looked back since. Her music has been gaining traction and she has been praised for her unique style and sound.
Nyarko’s popularity on Instagram soon led to her releasing full-length songs, including her latest single, “YOU”, a mid-tempo love song which has been well-received by fans.
The Dutch-born singer is currently on a media tour promoting her debut EP dubbed, “VIBES.”
