Nigerian Afrobeat artiste, Divine Ikubor, known in music circles as Rema has appreciated Burna Boy for giving him a first hand stage experience during his headlining concert in 2021.
Burna Boy sold out London’s 02 Arena with his Twice As Tall event, which was made the first headline show for the 2021 edition of the 02’s ‘Welcome Back Series’.
Burna, in the course of an exhilarating performance gave fans a surprise act from Rema with his award winning single, Dumebi.
After two years of making impressive strides in the industry, Rema headlines his first ever show at the 02 Arena and acknowledges Burna Boy for the opportunity he offered him. Rema said on his X page, “Before I get on stage, I want to say a big thank you to @burnaboy for bringing me on stage 2 years ago; today it’s my turn to conquer that same stage,”
The AfroRave star wished to perform at the 02 Arena with the African Giant once again, and acknowledged the long lasting impact Burna Boy made in his life on that platform. “I wish you were here with me to share this moment with me. Regardless I am grateful for the motivation.” he stated.
Rema is performing live at London’s 02 Arena today, November 14, 2023, as a sold-out ticket concert artiste. This stands as Rema’s third major global performance after his performance at the NBA All Star game alongside Burna Boy and Tems, to his performance at the 2023 Ballon d’or ceremony.
