Rio Ferdinand Reveals The Two Forwards He Hated Playing Against

Rio Ferdinand has singled out the two forwards he hated playing against in his career.

The former Manchester United and England centre-back was asked the question during a Twitter Q&A and he picked out two players who you would never normally say in the same sentence.

Of course, Ferdinand had to go for the only one Lionel Messi but he also gave props to Bolton legend Kevin Davies.

The former Chesterfield and Southampton wasn’t blessed with great technical ability or pace but had a knack of making himself an absolute nuisance for defenders because of physical presence and aerial ability.
Back in 2017, Ferdinand picked Messi and the Brazilian Ronaldo as his two toughest opponents in his career, describing them both as “brilliant players.
Last year, the former Leeds United man was asked how to stop Messi and offered a hilarious response.
“I was in a team that tried it a couple of times and it didn’t come off,” he said on BT Sport.
“Other than GBH [Grievous bodily harm], I don’t know. He’s one of, if not the best player in the world. Ever.
“There’s no individual that can deal with him. It’s a team effort.
