Ghanaian Afrobeats superstar, Kelvyn Brown also known as Kelvyn Boy has disclosed that the keen attention he gives to record label offers is the reason he remains an independent artiste.
The talented singer took off from Burniton Music Group, owned by Stonebwoy in 2019 and revealed that he has not been signed to any other ever since. “I’ve been independent since 2019. I’ve not been signed to any label after Stonebwoy’s.”
In an interview on Y107.9FM’s Dryve Of Your Lyfe with Kojo Manuel, he explained that there have been several offers that have been presented to him by a variety of record labels, but he prefers to engage in strategic music business with them. “There have been a few offers; but if the offer does not sit too well with me, there’s always another way to work and make money.”
“Some of the record label contracts will end up boxing you in, and instead of promoting you, they will hold you back; its far better to be independent and make your money until a better deal comes.” Kelvyn Boy noted.
