Sir Alex Ferguson Once Fined His Whole Team And He Told Them Through Poetry

Sir Alex Ferguson took no prisoners during his time in charge as a manager.

The former Manchester United boss caught one of the players in his Aberdeen side pulling a prank in a hotel. They were dropping footballs from their hotel window on the tenth floor onto the ground, but the Scotsman caught on and, instead of fining just the guilty party, fined the whole squad £3.

Instead of going through the hassle of explaining to his players why their wages were docked, he simply — and quite brilliantly — wrote them all a poem.
“By now, you will realise that I am very much aware of anyone as stupid as to repeat this affair,” it reads.
It seems any prank-pulling by his players would have inevitably ended up getting caught by Ferguson, who was an omnipresence as a manager.
Indeed, the pen is mightier than the sword — and Fergie knew this, too.
At Aberdeen, Ferguson won the Scottish Premiership three times and won two European cups. With United, the 76-year-old won 49 trophies, the most successful reign by a manager Britain has ever seen.
