Spanish newspaper Marca SLAM Gareth Bale for his controversial celebrations after Wales star mocked Real Madrid

Spanish newspaper Marca have slammed Gareth Bale after appearing to mock Real Madrid during Euro 2020 qualification celebrations with Wales.

Bale celebrated with a Welsh flag that read: ‘Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order.’

Now Marca have hit back with their front cover reading:  ‘Disrespectful. Wrong. Ungrateful. In that order.’

Zinedine Zidane is not planning to punish Bale over his actions while on Wales duty, according to reports.

There has been suggestions that Zidane might want to respond to Bale’s actions after he returns to Madrid on Thursday.

But, according to Spanish outlet Marca, there are no plans to treat the 30-year-old differently to any other player.

Zidane has long had an issue with Bale yet has decided not to respond to his latest antics.

The French manager is planning to greet him, shake his hand and congratulate him for earning qualification before he trains as normal.

Bale admitted he was aware of the chant and clearly saw the funny side of it.

When asked about it in an interview by Sgorio Cymru, he said: ‘I’ve heard it, especially when I was on the bench and when I came off, and the boys were laughing.

‘It’s a good bit of fun.’

It comes after Bale last week admitted he gets more of a thrill when pulling on the red shirt of Wales than at any other time in football.

Asked if playing for Wales allowed him to rediscover the joy of football, Bale said: ‘To an extent. I’ve been with most of the older players since we were in Under 17s.

‘It’s like playing with your mates down the park on a Sunday. It’s normal. With Wales, I’m speaking my own language and feel more comfortable.

‘I definitely have more excitement playing for Wales. But it doesn’t change what I do on the pitch. I always give 100 per cent on the pitch wherever I am, that’s what I always strive to do.’
