Over the years, Spotify has evolved to make listening with your friends better than ever. From Blend to Collaborative Playlists, sharing your music has never been easier. We’re now leveling up with Jam, a personalized, real-time listening session for any group to tune in together.
Now, the music never has to stop because you need to “pass the aux.” With Jam, everyone can add their favorite tracks to a shared queue – using their own phones – without missing a beat. From family cookouts to cocktail parties, anytime you’re getting together – Jam is there to help make listening together better.
Here are a few ideas for hosting your first Jam:
-
Hosting the ultimate party
-
Building the perfect playlist for Football Sunday
-

Here’s how Jam works:
-
A Premium user starts the Jam, as the host, from a track or playlist they’re excited about.
-
The host invites their friends – Free or Premium users – by tapping phones together (Bluetooth must be enabled), scanning a QR code on the hosts phone or receiving a link through social, text, SMS, and more.
-
Everyone in the Jam will be able to add songs to the shared queue and see who’s added what.
-
Plus, using Spotify’s personalization technology, everyone will receive recommendations based on the group’s listening preferences so you’re bound to deliver a banger.
-
-
And, you can always rearrange the order of the tracks or remove a song if it doesn’t fit the vibe.
-
The host has the ultimate control so they can manage the queue on their own or have guests help them out. With Jam, you’ll be able to connect through the artists and songs that unite you and discover some unexpected gems with those around you.
