The stars billed to perform at the Vodafone Unity Concert gave patrons a doze of real time entertainment as they performed songs from their repertoire to the admiration of all at the National Theatre.
Revellers and football stars billed for the Vodafone Unity Match enjoyed performances from DSP Kofi Sarpong, Gasmilla, Efya, VVIP and the pride of Ashaiman, Stonebwoy.
Always known for his energetic performances, DSP Kofi Sarpong was the opening act for the night. He set the tone for the concert with a live band making patrons yearn for more.
His performance was quickly followed by dancers who performed from several collection of hit songs. One of the MCs for the night Nana Ama McBrown joined in the dance formation sending cheers among the teeming crowd.
Efya then came through with gateway vibes and ended with an amazing rendition of the Ghana National Anthem sending chills. The International Fisherman and ‘Telemo’ hit maker Gasmilla also made sure his presence was felt. He doled out one hit song after the other and was later joined on stage by Luther.
VVIPs “Skokolom” and “Selfie” also kept the crowd excited. The ever green group also performed songs from their early days.
Then came Stonebwoy who made an entrance with his ‘people dey’ song wearing an ‘eagle coat’. He engaged the crowd with his performance as they sang along with him throughout his session.
The Vodafone Unity Match Concert was part of activities against the main Vodafone Unity Match between Stephen Appiah’s World XI and the Black Stars of Ghana slated for June 11 at the Accra Sports Stadium. The Vodafone Unity Match, championed by Primeval Media in partnership with by Stephen Appiah, is an initiative to canvass for peace and unity ahead of the 2016 general elections set for November.
