The Tema Community 25 Lions Club held a grand installation ceremony on Friday June, 27 to induct its new Club Officers for the 2025/2026 service year.

The club, which is part of District 418 Ghana and one of 46 Lions Clubs across the country, continues to grow steadily with a dedicated membership of over 30 active Lions.

The ceremony which was held at the prestigious Alisa Hotel – Tema brought together notable personalities within the Lions fraternity to witness the installation of Lion Dr. Ralph Nii Okai Tettey-Amlalo (MJF), as Club President, and Lion Nana Yaw Boadi Appiah as Charter Club President for the 2025/2026 service year.

The event began with a warm welcome address delivered by the Outgoing President, Lion Kwame Bruce Kporvie, who set a hopeful tone for the night, filled with gratitude, vision, and forward-looking discussions about the club’s path for the year ahead.

Lion Kporvie also presented the club’s statutory report, highlighting several achievements recorded during the previous service year.

District Governor Lion Dr. Helena Asamoah Hassan PMJF JLCF , officially conducted the installation of Lion Dr. Tettey-Amlalo and his new cabinet. She charged the newly appointed officers with the responsibility of leading the club into greater impact.

“Lion Ralph, you have been appointed as the President of your club. You are the Chief Executive Officer of your club. Your success is a reflection of your club’s success. Now is the time to continue building your club in every way possible so that it may be an example to other clubs and a credit to the community, the district, and to Lions Clubs International,” she urged.

In his acceptance speech, Lion Dr. Ralph Nii Okai Tettey-Amlalo expressed gratitude to fellow Lions and individuals who have journeyed with him in the club’s mission. Describing his new role as the “beginning of a new chapter of leadership,” he shared his vision for the upcoming year.

“As I begin this new chapter of leadership, I do so with a theme that reflects both our roots and our aspirations: ‘Rise to Lead, Reach to Serve, Strive for Excellence.’ This theme is a vision and a reminder that the best of who we are is yet to come,” he declared.

The Special Guest of Honor, Mrs. Patience Ami Mamattah, the Municipal Director of Health Services for the Ningo-Prampram Municipality, applauded the club’s ongoing community support. She particularly noted the near completion of a state-of-the-art eye clinic in Prampram, a legacy project for the 2025/2026 service year.

“The work Lions Clubs have been doing over the years is impactful, and it has been so consistently. As healthcare professionals, we deal with diseases and causes—but they often fall outside our direct purview. The acts of kindness you offer through service to the community are invaluable. It is through your compassion that we are able to reach those who need help,” she remarked.

Beyond the installation of officers, the event also doubled as a fundraiser, which successfully raised GHS 50,000 to cover the complete roofing and supply costs for the Prampram Eye Clinic project.
