It’s Tuesday, May 28th 2019 and we are days away from a battle royal of sporting events. From the Champions League final in Madrid, where Liverpool will take on Tottenham, to Anthony Joshua vs Andy Ruiz at Madison Square Garden.
This weekend is a guaranteed blockbuster. But hang on a minute; what if the biggest clash of them all has already happened?
Ladies and gentlemen, never in my lifetime did I expect to wake up one day and witness Arsene Wenger try and dribble past former Ballon d’Or winner Zinedine Zidane, but here we are.
In a charity in Bordeaux last night, the pair went head to head when France’s 1998 World Cup-winning side came up against some of the all time greats.
One of these legends included a certain Mr Wenger, who didn’t shy away from trying to dribble past (run away) from an incoming Zidane.
I mean, the man is five months away from turning 70 and he isn’t afraid of going up against one of the best ever.
This is what life is all about.
As you can imagine, this moment between Wenger and Zidane managed to find its way on social media, with some branding it “the greatest image” in sporting history.
We can’t disagree with that statement, to be honest.
