Thierry Henry Says There's Only One World-Class Striker In The Premier League

Thierry Henry reckons there’s only one Premier League striker worthy of being labelled “world-class”.
The top flight has its fair share of in-form strikers at the moment but the Arsenal legend believes only Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero warrants the tag.
Henry, who scored 228 goals for Arsenal, was speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football ahead of his former side’s 2-0 win over West Brom and explained his reasoning as to why Aguero, who has netted an incredible 176 goals for Manchester City since his £38 million move in 2011, is the only world-class striker the league boasts.
“The only one who is world class or has been world class, is Aguero because of the longevity of what he has done in this league, year in and year out. He won the league here and he has been doing it the longest.
“You have to give him a bit of credit. I think sometimes we bypass Aguero like he didn’t happen.”

The Argentine, the highest-scoring non-European striker in Premier League history, is just two goals away from becoming Manchester City’s all-time record goalscorer, and has a ridiculous tally of 128 goals in 187 Premier League appearances. Yet somehow, he has never once been named in the PFA Team of the Year.
Presently, Aguero shares the scoring charts with cross-city rival Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata, who bagged a hat-trick against Stoke at the weekend. All three players have netted six goals in the league thus far.
But Henry says that although they are on their way to getting to the level, Lukaku and Morata, along Harry Kane, a two-time Premier League Golden Boot winner and the most prolific striker in Europe statistically, cannot be considered world-class just yet.
He continued:
“In the Premier League, internationally, in the Champions League, how many times, how many years? That is what we are talking about. Lukaku has just arrived at Man United, he hasn’t played long in the Champions League.
“For Harry Kane, last season was short in the Champions League. It was short in the Europa League and the Euros.
“Morata was often off the bench at Madrid. He had a good year at Juve but he was playing with Llorente or Tevez.
“They will get there and we should be happy to have these players in our league.”
