On the night of August 30, 2024, the Perez Dome in Accra was transformed into a sanctuary of music, faith, and celebration as legendary Ghanaian gospel musician Esther Smith delivered a soul-stirring performance that left the audience in awe.

The event, anticipated for weeks, was not just a concert; it was a spiritual revival, a communal gathering, and a testament to the unifying power of Ghanaian gospel music.

By 4:30 pm, as the gates opened and the first guests began to trickle in, the atmosphere was already electric. Gospel tunes played by DJ Carcious of YFM filled the air, setting a tone of anticipation and reverence.

At 5:30 pm, MCs for the night – Akua Sika of Happy FM and Abeiku Santana of Okay FM took to the stage to officially open the event.

With a warm and enthusiastic welcome, the MCs set the tone for the evening with the first musical offering coming in praise and worship, led by the carpet band.

The concert featured a lineup of some of the most respected names in Ghanaian gospel music.

The first set of performances included Minstrel Maadwoa and Paa Sammy. Each brought their unique style and energy to the stage, warming up the audience for the evening’s main event.

Randy Agyemang, Becky Bonney, and Dinah Hammond continued to lift the spirits of the attendees with their powerful voices and inspirational lyrics.

The energy in the room continued to build as each artist delivered a performance that was a public proclamation of faith.

At the time of Nana Yaw Asare, Mark Anim Yirenkyi, ACP Kofi Sarpong, Minister OJ, and Noble Nketia, the audience was fully engaged, with many people on their feet, singing along, and even dancing in the aisles. The Perez Dome had become a sea of movement and sound.

As the evening progressed, the anticipation for Esther Smith’s performance peaked. Morris Babyface and Pastor Joe Beechem, who delivered powerful performances served as the final prelude to the main showdown.

Then, it was time. The lights dimmed, and the MC introduced Esther Smith, accompanied by her daughter Glenda Smith. As Glenda took the stage and began her performance, the room was filled with pride. Her voice, though young, carried the same power and emotion as her mother’s, hinting at a future legacy in the making.

Amidst a dramatic display of light effects, Esther Smith appeared on stage. The crowd erupted in applause and cheers.

For the next 90 minutes, Esther Smith delivered a performance that can only be described as transcendent. She moved effortlessly between her classic hits and newer material, each song a testament to her enduring talent and her deep faith.

The audience was captivated from the first note, sang along, danced, and worshipped, completely absorbed in the experience.

Whether it was her early hits like “Gye No Di” or more recent releases, every song was met with enthusiasm and appreciation from the audience.

The audience’s response was overwhelming, with many attendees moved to tears as they joined in the chorus.

The connection between Esther Smith and her audience was undeniable; it was more than just music, it was a shared expression of faith and gratitude.

The event was powered by Global Media Alliance and supported by the Ghana Tourism Authority, HealthTech, and egoTickets.
