Ghana’s leading esports company, Ultimate Pro Gaming (UPG) Esports Agency, has slated the finals of its much anticipated UPG FIFA 22 Esports Tournament to Saturday, February 25 at the Aviation Social Centre.
The tournament which kicked off with a qualifiers phase last year across three regions in Ghana – Greater Accra, Western and Ashanti Regions, has seen six teams set to battle it out for the tournament cash pool of Ghc13,000.00
The participating teams representing the various regions include Team Xplosion and Team Falcons for Accra, Ruutz Esports and PlayProvince for Takoradi and Originals Esports and Modern Row Now for Kumasi.
“We’re beyond proud to have come to this stage of the finals of the tournament. The teams showed grit, passion and determination and above all entertained the crowd throughout the qualifiers. I want to personally congratulate every gamer and their respective teams – it was quite a journey. For what we’ve seen in the qualifiers, the finals promises to be massive. So I entreat everyone to come out in their numbers come Saturday, February 25 at the Aviation Social Centre to have fun and showcase the impressive talents we have in esports here in Ghana,” Antony Botchway, CEO of UPG Esports Agency shared.
The competition has been fierce, with each team showcasing their skills and strategies on the virtual pitch. Fans have been treated to thrilling matches and nail-biting moments as the teams fought for a spot in the finals.
Now, the moment of truth has arrived. On Saturday, February 25 the six teams will converge at the Aviation Social Centre for the ultimate showdown. The stakes are high, and the teams are ready to give it their all to emerge as champions.
The winning team will walk away with a trophy, GHC10,000 cash, and bragging rights as the 2nd placed teams and 3rd placed teams get GHC 2,000 and GHC 1,000 each.
